EPL is back

in front of Old Trafford

Yesterday 15 August, the curtain finally lift up to make ways for a new season. A season that saw the zillion and million trading in the quest to get holy grail. It was a sheer madness to see Real MADrid spent mad cash to lure Kaka, Ronaldo, Benzema and Alonso, also few others to further strengthen their tag as Galacticos. Football is really a mad, mad BUSINESS..not simply just getting a goal...

In England, Manchester City emerged as a new Chelski by spending a huge money in a hope to buy success. As a fan surely a new player with a huge talent fascinate the title challenge but what had happened to Chelski in the past suggested otherwise. After the departure of the chosen one Mr Jose Mourinho, Chelski was struggling to find the feet on the ground. They got a pool of players, scary to think the likes of Essien, Shevchenko, Kalou only warming the bench. Surely on the paper they can grab any title in this world?? but is that so?? the sacking of Scolari further rubbed salt to the injury. The answer is no...Money cannot buy success.

Any richest football teams in this world can buy the best striker or midfielder but what matters in football is time. To get a best striker like Huntellar by Real Madrid with the hope to net as many goals as he can was considered a futile move. Huntelar was a a goal poacher in Holland but failed to deliver in Spanish ligue..Why?? because of time..He eventually sold after just one blip season in Spain. Players need time to gel as a team, to understand each other game and to have time to settle down in one league. Ronaldo required almost 2 years to establish himself as a force in United squad. He was relatively unknown back to year 2003 when he put pen on papers for United from Sporting Lisbon. But look at him now, only 23 years old, Champion League medal, The Football Players of the year title under his belt. Ferguson had trained and mould him to be as who he is today, from a player with too many dribbling and steps over to a player with a perfect header, a perfect free kick and deserves a Hall of Fame accolade as the best and expensive midfielder in this world!! Again why?? because of time. Fergie had time to groom his players and his ability to play with time to groom Ronaldo, Beckham, Rooney, Giggs, Neville brothers etc proved as his track record. So for me money cannot buy success!!

So, I am not surprise to see that Fergie spent quite a startle money to sign highly-rated winger Antonio Valencia and unknown Gabriel Obertan to polish them to be superstar one day. Those 2 players surely cannot replace Ronaldo but yes for the future. Ronaldo will sorely miss and not surprising if United have to dig it hard to retain title. I do have faith in other young players the likes of Kiko (Macheda), Nani, Anderson, Rafael but none can be put in the same breath as Ronaldo. As Man United fan, it was devastated to lose the man with goal poacher, the man with too many assists to be counted, the man whose presence create a scare to the opponent. But then, again this is football, loyalty is something in the past. It was not Ronaldo fault to create misery and agony to all United fans in this world. Of course the greener pasture awaiting him in Spain, but the dream to play in white upstaging money and fame!!! I would jump into the wagon just to play for my favourite team!!!

Even it is hard to accept but as truly football fan i have to admit United will not retain the title.. hurt is it?? United really need to work extra hard to beat other teams esp Chelski and Liverfool for the title..I doubt city as MASSIVE club can challenge the title, yes Barry, Santa Cruz, Adebayor, Teves are there but lack of quality esp in defend area might hamper City for the contenders let alone to be in the big 4. Let the ball and luck decide which team is the worthy recipient for the title this season..I just hope for the best to my team...hope to see the young one shine and the old head like Owen, Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand continue their undying service to the team.

To all natural and football fans, watch up for Fabregas as I know he is going to be force unless he is injury free...Gooner for the title?? Nay..Sorry mate!! hehehe

Just enjoy the roller coaster ride this season...hehehe

Cheers
