I always love
football since I was in primary school. I used to stay back after school just to
be with a few boys friends in the school yard to play football or ping-pong.
Yes, I enjoyed kicking the ball around and once a while listened to their
tactical discussion. Don’t be surprise if I say I know 4-4-2 formation, 5-3-2
hehehe..from them when I was 9-10 years of age.. I have known the positions well, full back, left back, winger,
stopper, playmaker …hihihi and I can read the rules in the game well….corner kick,
offside, free kick..
I used to have a
football scrap book…yes…I cut photos of few favourite players and put them in
the scrap books. Well, I did not have
enough money to buy the so called a player card and put them nicely inside the
collector album at that time ....so I had a scrap book. Few Man
United players dominated the pages, the likes of Ryan Giggs, Roy Keane, Robbo,
Sparky, George Best, also from Azzuri team such as Alessandro Del Piero
(my all time Italian player), Gatusso, Pirlo,
fewer from other countries such as
Pavel Nedvek, Cambiasso, etc…For the local heroes, I only have Mokhtar Dahari, Akmal Rizal (following him since his stint in Hagenau) and Fandi Ahmad (opsss...Singaporean rite)...
My interest towards
Man United seriously started with a legend hailed from France, a stubborn but
genius player who Sir Alex brought from Leeds United and had a flying kick
towards fan at the Selhurt Park..hihihii and I was also amazed with the Welsh
wizard Mr Ryan Joseph Wilson or Giggs..These 2 players chained me to Man United
until at the present time…
So obviously am not
a bandwagon..People always said that women fans are bandwagon, a glory hunter,
looking only at handsome guy running sweat on the pitch… I would definitely
laugh at this accusation… I watched Euro matches at wee hours together with my
partner in crime G in the univ common room..hehehe.. I was a regular visitor of
Man United club house in section 17 when I was at UIA matric centre… I have a team which I managed in Fantasy
Premier League Manager ….hahahhha …and Yes, I did not play football myself….and
I never will....not even futsal. Am not crazy over Beckham,
Ronaldo, etc..but I admire their talent and attitude. Beckham always arrived
early for a training and always be the last to leave the training ground just
want to practice his passing and free kick. So no wonder he is the dead-ball specialist…ermm…In fact, he was away from home (his home in London) since he
was 10 years old..stay in Manchester with a care taker, to be with United
academy and his sacrifice indeed a worth. Every success need to work hard, commitment and discipline…a reminder to me…
This entry is about
football so…this coming Saturday is a final match Kelantan vs ATM.. Kelate is
looking for a treble and ATM definitely wants to put their name on the trophy
and a place in the Malaysian Cup history. What I like about Kelate fans is their
attitude..I mean the good one not the one who create a chaos on the pitch and
outside stadium.. I like their spirit to support the team..driving a long
way from kelate to the stadium, wearing either a white or red jersey on the
match day, car decorated with Kelate
flag and this similar scenario I have seen in England during a World cup
tournament. On the match day, I can see them wearing the England jersey
everywhere on the roads or in the post office or shops. I was astonished to see
the post-office officer wearing the jersey at work… that's the spirit. The
shops closed early as they either rush home to watch the telly or be a
the local pubs to cheer the team on live telecast. Not only that, their houses, shops, buildings
are decorated with flags…
Can you see these in Malaysia when the Harimau Malaya
team in action on that day? Yes you may find them on the street wearing
jersey on the ways to the stadium but not while working..ermm..and the Malaysian flag only display on the National day celebration... smirk!
To The Red Warrior
Team "Gomo Kelate Gomo". Be nice and steady inside the stadium
regardless of what happen on the pitch. Hoping that the referee will be at
their best…Those friends all the way from Kelate …safe journey yaa… Me? I will
be at home only entertain myself with a live telecast on telly, praying that
TRW will win (regardless of what the rumours said)…
I always feel that I am not good enough to write about TRW..so I just leave this to the expert to say their thoughts....
By the way…Jom Puasa

Yeah people it is
already October …ermm...
How time flies so fast. It is irony how
dreadful time would be for different people and how anxious they can be or how
happy they can be when the word time is mentioned. Some might be counting days
on the big day…ermm, some might be counting hours to switch off the computer to
be home after long hours at work, some might pray the time will stop as to
capture the joyful moment, some would wish the clock will strike slow, so that
many tasks can be done in a day, some would hope time will heal the pain and
grief of losing the beloved one, some may pray for extra time at the dying minute so there is a slim chance of winning the game, some would be counting days, second, to pack
the bag and travel, to complete the study, to meet the supervisor (hehehe), to be reunited with the
loved one, family, a nervous time waiting for a result after viva voce, some pray harder to have more time to live and repent, and of course at the time of writing I am waiting for my rice (using rice cooker tapi)...hehehe
Yes….T.I.M.E is the
centre of Allah's creation…look at how time brings an individual from one stages to another, from infant to toddler
to kid to youth to adult to old age and eventually died or the process of dying can be somewhere in
between. Everything works in a
prescribed time. There is a precise time for solat, for fasting, hajj and zakah. .. There is
a specific time when Allah granted our doa easily. There is an exact time for fruit to
ripe, a flower to blossom, a butterfly
leaves the cocoon, the 4 seasons to come, detail time to get the mixture become fluffy and etc etc....All I can say that nothing works without time, yes even to the
experiment in the lab requires time and perseverance, time for a research maturity, saturation of data, time to do transcribing ….bla..bla…all I can say that everything revolves around time. So time is the precious gift in this world.
The time that I have
as PhD student, really make me realizes that time is at every nook and cranny of
our life. I agree that one of the precious lesson in doing PhD is I have a time on my own...to plan my work, to gain more knowledge, to be close to Allah, to do a lot of reflective thinking, more time to perform extra solat...ermm.. In fact, Allah continuously reminds us the
significant of time…He puts it in the special place...Surah Al-Asr…. Time is
precious…too precious that nothing in this world can buy time….the billionaire
may delay the flight schedule, may get shorter time to move from one place to
another using superjet...but no one can
stop whenever the time comes for you to lose your life. Only Allah knows when is
the best time for everything that we do and we face, marriage, success,
fortune, trial, tribulation and death are all works in the miracle of time…..So
if you people out there having a rough time, a fail plan…trust Allah, the TIME will come....trust me His
plan is the best and His TIME is the best...
Certainly this entry
is a gentle reminder to me….reminder to repent, to do good deeds, to give a lot of donation, to do charity, to forgive bad people in my life, to spend more time with my family, to take care of my
health, to finish my work, to……..the list is endless….
Ermm tetiba teringat

"Huge 4 days
saving to London on A380…."
Tempting?? Yes
really tempting in the midst of writing, craving for escapade, an arid soul of
me longing for different weather and of course cuci mata…hehehehe
So, I just surf the
website and yes the deal is quite tempting….London return (RM2,999) ermmm
I used to get a deal
slightly cheaper than this..2009 2010 trip to London …and Yes, if Ian is still in UK, I
would book it and explore UK more...but that of course with Allah's willing.... ( Biiznillah)…..
I noticed that I
have not shared much about my previous trip….no picture in facebook too ermm...
It is better to keep thing to myself...I don't want people to think that am showing off...so avoiding such action would be much better there. In this blog luckily not many people know me so I feel a bit free to put some photos....
It just so let put this entry as
Reminiscence #1…
Let me reminiscence my trip in June 2010…
The highlight would
be a 3 days trip to Prague…but I also went to fewer places in UK, like Cardiff,
Salisbury, car boot sale in Whit-church (Knowle) , Bath Spa, Weston Super-Mare
and Madame Tussaud in London.
So, for this entry lemme talk write about
Salisbury
What makes Salisbury so special?
Perhaps not many
people know about Salisbury but when the mere-mention of STONEHENGE, people
could easily picture a unique rock rite? Yes, like any normal town in UK,
Salisbury is so peaceful and calm.It is a beautiful place to visit, people is so polite and friendly and the weather is just awesome with its summer breeze.
The picture of
Stonehenge would be better without me in it…hehehe
Of course to enter
this place, need to pay certain amount of fee. The different fare for the admission
with earplug that the visitors will be listened to the commentator ..not a
compulsory though…
The Stonehenge is an attraction but frankly
am more interested in exploring the town…there is a cathedral and park, with green water where I can find few ducks...eating nasi goreng...hehehe....such a tranquility....
I could not find other photos in Salisbury...ermm I may have put them somewhere....huhuhu
Next time (If I may have a mood to write on my travel experience) I will write about Bath-Spa....
It is Saturday and happy working for me!!

Different ways

I love
blogwalking….peep into stranger's life rambling and mumbling about life
especially those who live abroad..to be exact students doing PhD or master
abroad. I used to follow students' blogs in Germany, UK, New Zealand, Australia
and US. Listening and reading their
ranting about life, learning opportunities, travel and food, cooking, recipes
somehow make me part of it..magic is it? It probably because me don’t have a
chance to study abroad so by reading their story make me inspired, motivated
and of course envy!
Through their
inscriptions, I'm looking at life through different lenses, more important on
life experiences abroad and their perceptions. Things work differently there
ranging from rubbish separation, appropriate
bus stop and to the exact time of shop hours. Mundane life could be the same one can find here in
Malaysia, but the weather, different culture and food could make a different to
students' life abroad. The chance of visiting friends studying in UK and
Australia enlightened me in many ways…in various different ways…so I understand
and could feel it each ranting and
mumbling..hehehehe…
Would I like to
experience such life? I have a
concoction feeling to answer.. I guess if I have known earlier I would change
the way it is…I mean there are many other different ways to get to the path which I dream for since I was 17
years old. I should not stare at one door and be happy with it…I should have
thought, tried and done it in different ways.
It is probably to late to divert
my direction now, have to be strong mentally with lots of doas to face
it….enough said!
There are many
different ways of looking at the latest sensitive issue involving Muslim…this
kind of humiliation will never cease. They will never left us alone! Yes, this
is too much and such provocation is too hard to endure…what more with the ugly
scenario engulf our Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine, Syria, Rohingya
to name a few…and we do have the right to protest . The other ways is let us be
united in the spirit of Islam " La Illaha illalah" to combat it now
and whatever come later in the future. Let us go back to Islam my fellow
Muslims, the true religion, let us our heart be strong with Al-Quran, with doas
and prayers. Let us be strong mentally
and physically, let us be strong to face all sorts of threat by digging more
knowledge as it serves as a key to face whatever hurdle.
Allah definitely
would not allow the horrendous incident for nothing as everything walks with
'Hikmah' or wisdom. Let this be a beginning for us to be united to be a strong
ummah, let us keep on remembering the
beloved Prophet not only on designated day and event, let his sunnah and
teaching be continued, let us keep on salawat upon him and let the unbelievers
see the greatness of Him…
Regardless of the hype let us enjoy this clip.....
Barakallah and Jazakallah to Bro Maher for this song!

I would relish the chance of doing my work elsewhere, other than at the usual
view from our room
working...working...working...
IIFew close friends of mine sms and bbm on my absentees in UKM...well of course I was backhome for a month, in Ramadhan so I understood if I am under the radar. I completely move out from Bangi area and stay in sanctuary place...in which I dont know for how long, it all depends on Allah's plan.
III
Congratulation to Mr Andy Murray...a new US champion! A sweet victory from a man who never give up to play and to compete. 2012 is indeed a good year for Andy after winning the Olympic medal beaten FeDex and now a Grand Slam US open beating Djokovic. FeDex returns to No 1 spot, Djokovic was excellent last year with his phenomenal achievement but Nadal still haunted with a knee injury.
IV
Sometimes along this bumpy, dark and long route..fatigue incinerate a soul...a weak and tested soul of me would love to plan for a escapade...probably a week in a cold place or 2 weeks in a peaceful place or a couple of days somewhere with a few good old buddies or my beloved mum or a breakaway like this to satisfy an insatiable soul of mine... Hope next year biizinillah...
okey...about time to check out...
till next time peeps!
Defensive woes
3:13 PM Ellie 0 Comments Category :
EPL is just in
third week and I know this comment is premature!
Call it as you want
but as an avid fan….for more than 10 years, the man in RED in Manchester,
England really did not impress me much.
I would not question
on Fergie's tactics in which I am not worthy to challenge a man decision who
have many silverwares under his belt. So my concern is on defenders missing due
to the long injury, shaky defending and goalkeeping. It seems that Man United
really takes it years to really find a steady replacement for Edwin Van Der
Sar, I saw the same phenomenon when Man
United missing the great Dane previously. Those most capped and experienced
keeper, the likes of Fabian Barthez failed to shine. Who can forget how dodgy
Masimo Taibi was, Raimond Van Der Gouw did not bring the safe hand to the net
and rare talent from US, Tim Howard, also see establishing himself at Toffee
now. So, if history repeats itself, may
be, yes maybe the young De Gea has a
very loong road to establish himself as replacement for Van Der Sar, so
does Lindegaard. Am not looking them down but a club like United cannot afford
to bare simple goalkeeping mistakes consecutively so Fergie maybe need to get
our ex-man, Ben Foster or invest in a
lucrative deal to lure probably Casilas or another goalkeeper from other club in EPL...ermm
Injuries don’t give
us any favour. The stats was awful…Man United are really vulnerable at the back
if a new club like Soton can unleash the defensive woes…what more when the
champion league begins and when the demand of 2 matches in the week commerce. Both
Ferdinand and Vidic are not fit, and the injury to Phil Jones, Chris Smalling
was really in a bad timing. Fergie did splash money on young Buttner but if
experienced full back could be bought and aspiring the young guard that would be awesome. I wont
mention name here though...
On the bright note,
it was a stellar performance from Van Persie…and that was after the
introduction of Scholes…sigh! Man United really need to tighten things at the
middle. Cleverly's performance nothing near to what he did last year (before
the injury), Kagawa still adapting….. So
still need the service of Anderson and Nani (please make them stay, if the
rumours was right). RVP has been instrumental in front and it would be even
more meaningful if the back of the net is not too busy.
Transfer window
officially closed! (at least for a few month before January transfer starts the
mayhem) Amidst of what
happen on the pitch with the arrival of RVP, Kagawa, Nick Powell, Angelo
Henriquez and Alex Buttner….off the pitch, it was sad to see few big names
departed….Good luck and thank your for your services to Park Ji-Sung (a very
hardworking player with his tireless run), Dimitar Berbatov (cannot forget your
goal against Liverfool man!) Michael Owen (surely his attitude of never giving
up aspired the youngsters) and Tomasz Kuszczak.
Hope for a better!!! Bel20ve!
p.s I know, I should write about my favourite local team 'The Red Warrior' (so obvious as I was hailed from Kelantan....hehehe)..but I think it is better for the expert to write!
Me sign off dulu...
