Defensive woes
EPL is just in
third week and I know this comment is premature!
Call it as you want
but as an avid fan….for more than 10 years, the man in RED in Manchester,
England really did not impress me much.
I would not question
on Fergie's tactics in which I am not worthy to challenge a man decision who
have many silverwares under his belt. So my concern is on defenders missing due
to the long injury, shaky defending and goalkeeping. It seems that Man United
really takes it years to really find a steady replacement for Edwin Van Der
Sar, I saw the same phenomenon when Man
United missing the great Dane previously. Those most capped and experienced
keeper, the likes of Fabian Barthez failed to shine. Who can forget how dodgy
Masimo Taibi was, Raimond Van Der Gouw did not bring the safe hand to the net
and rare talent from US, Tim Howard, also see establishing himself at Toffee
now. So, if history repeats itself, may
be, yes maybe the young De Gea has a
very loong road to establish himself as replacement for Van Der Sar, so
does Lindegaard. Am not looking them down but a club like United cannot afford
to bare simple goalkeeping mistakes consecutively so Fergie maybe need to get
our ex-man, Ben Foster or invest in a
lucrative deal to lure probably Casilas or another goalkeeper from other club in EPL...ermm
Injuries don’t give
us any favour. The stats was awful…Man United are really vulnerable at the back
if a new club like Soton can unleash the defensive woes…what more when the
champion league begins and when the demand of 2 matches in the week commerce. Both
Ferdinand and Vidic are not fit, and the injury to Phil Jones, Chris Smalling
was really in a bad timing. Fergie did splash money on young Buttner but if
experienced full back could be bought and aspiring the young guard that would be awesome. I wont
mention name here though...
On the bright note,
it was a stellar performance from Van Persie…and that was after the
introduction of Scholes…sigh! Man United really need to tighten things at the
middle. Cleverly's performance nothing near to what he did last year (before
the injury), Kagawa still adapting….. So
still need the service of Anderson and Nani (please make them stay, if the
rumours was right). RVP has been instrumental in front and it would be even
more meaningful if the back of the net is not too busy.
Transfer window
officially closed! (at least for a few month before January transfer starts the
mayhem) Amidst of what
happen on the pitch with the arrival of RVP, Kagawa, Nick Powell, Angelo
Henriquez and Alex Buttner….off the pitch, it was sad to see few big names
departed….Good luck and thank your for your services to Park Ji-Sung (a very
hardworking player with his tireless run), Dimitar Berbatov (cannot forget your
goal against Liverfool man!) Michael Owen (surely his attitude of never giving
up aspired the youngsters) and Tomasz Kuszczak.
Hope for a better!!! Bel20ve!
p.s I know, I should write about my favourite local team 'The Red Warrior' (so obvious as I was hailed from Kelantan....hehehe)..but I think it is better for the expert to write!
Me sign off dulu...
